Job Description: The Technical Analyst, Information Management (IM), designs, modifies, develops, writes and implements automation and integration applications for electronic content management (ECM). The incumbent supports and/or installs software relating to information management applications, participates in test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software, and carries out research on a variety of business application system concepts, practices and procedures.KEY AND PERIODIC ACTIVITIES
The duties and responsibilities listed below are representative but not all-inclusive:
Primary
- Perform technical analysis and develop automation and integration applications in support of business requirements, strategies, and Information Management (IM)
- Develop technical requirements and translate business needs and functional documents into technical solutions
- Analyze business processes, code and develop enhancements to add functionality and convert existing programs using information management applications
- Gather functional and technical requirements for enterprise content management applications and carry out research on solutions for software problems
- Implement and customize SharePoint-based solutions for Collaboration portals, Enterprise Content Management, Workflows and Enterprise Search
- Develop test cases in collaboration with business users to minimize production issues
- Investigate and resolve critical system issues and support Service Desk colleagues in responding to information management application-related queries
- Create technical designs, specifications, change requests, training documentation and other material
- Develop and maintain effective relationships within DCC, and with industry, the Client-Partners and/or stakeholders
- Ensure quality standards are met, in line with corporate expectations
- Manage risk
Other
- Support the administration of Laserfiche, including user access, repository structures and records management rules
- Research emerging technologies, provide technical and functional feedback on design considerations in developing SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365 Online solutions
- Provide direction and assistance to the Business Analyst and Head Office departments to ensure proper integration of systems software
- Mentor and support teammates in responding to technical development questions and problems
- Other duties as assigned
SKILLS
General and Specific Knowledge
- Best practices, methods, trends and legislation in information technology and information management
- Expert knowledge and experience in SharePoint, PowerAutomate and PowerApps
- Knowledge and experience in developing applications using XML, .NET, SQL and/or C#
- Corporate business applications i.e. Document and Records Management
- Project and risk management principles
- Strong research and analytical skills
Formal Education and/or Certification(s) and ExperienceMinimum: college diploma in computer science with eight years’ relevant experience, or the equivalent
Preferred: University degree in Computer Science with Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) and Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) knowledge/education/training, and Information Management best practicesAbilities
- Use computer programs to perform advanced tasks
- Use applicable computer software and operating systems
- Write technical solutions and guidance documents
- Demonstrate attention to detail
- Apply project management and risk management techniques
