Job Description: Veterinary Technologist AssistantDepartment: EmergencyLocation: Victoria, BCCentral Victoria Veterinary Hospital is looking for experienced, full-time, Veterinary Technologist Assistants to join our 24hr Emergency team! This role works closely with our ER RVTs, DVMs and board certified specialists in a fast paced, stimulating, world class medical environment. The ideal candidate will have a positive teamwork-type attitude and a personality that can deliver exceptional customer service and communication skills. A veterinary assistant certificate would be an asset but is not a requirement. This position requires flexibility to work on a rotating schedule, however, it also affords a great work-life balance.Key responsibilities:Assisting Veterinarians and RVTs with various tasks and treatmentsCreating a warm and welcoming environment for our patients and pet parentsProviding compassionate care duties including feeding and walking patientsCreating a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our clients and patientsGeneral housekeeping duties; cleanliness of work area, pet holding areas and common areasClient care such as reception, payments and supportive communicationWillingness to learn more regarding; veterinary services, updated medical office procedures and assisting the Veterinary staff with various tasks and treatmentsKey attributes:Exceptional client service skillsCompassion and nurturing attitudeAbility to remain calm in stressful situationsAbility to adapt in changing situationsEfficient in carrying out assignments independentlyTakes initiative to complete tasks throughout the daySchedule: This position is full time, with a rotating schedule.What VCA Canada OffersJoin our team and you will make a huge difference in the lives of pets and their families!
