Job Description: Job Description:We are offering a short-term contract employment opportunity for a Database Engineer in Vancouver, British Columbia. This contract opportunity has a term of 3-months, is offered remotely, and will work with a utilities based client who are migrating ERPs, as such they need assistance with data ETL and structure.Key responsibilities:

• Review the current environment and devise solutions to meet set goals
• Ensure that both sources of data integrated on the same MongoDB
• Shift historical data from the SQL database to MongoDB, ensuring data integrity
• Collaborate with the team to create efficient methods for achieving desired outcomes, beyond the prescribed solutions
• Manage data migrations, ensuring minimal downtime or disruption to users
• Work with APIs to integrate different systems and databases
• Actively contribute to process and system improvements, providing insights and suggestions based on your expertise in the field.

Requirements:What you bring:

• Proficient in MongoDB and SQL, with experience in data migration, integration, and ensuring data integrity across platforms.
• Skilled in moving historical data from SQL to MongoDB with minimal disruption and maintaining high data quality.
• Experience in using APIs to enable smooth data flow between systems.
• Experience working in Azure hosted environments.
• Strong analytical skills to assess the current environment, identify gaps, and create efficient, innovative solutions.
• Effective communication and teamwork to align on goals, troubleshoot, and develop optimal workflows.
• Proactive in suggesting system and process improvements to enhance efficiency and performance.
