Job Description: Joe Johnson Equipment is looking for a Heavy Equipment Mechanic / Technician to join our team. As the successful candidate you will be responsible for troubleshooting and performing repairs and installs on a variety of heavy equipment such as hydro-vac trucks, street sweepers, refuse trucks, and various landscaping equipment. This role is a full-time role, Monday to Friday, NO WEEKENDS – day shift.What you will do:

• Perform trouble shooting, mechanical repairs and PDIs (pre-delivery inspections) on a variety of heavy equipment represented by Joe Johnson Equipment
• Conduct repairs in a timely and effective manner, communicating effectively with the Service Writer and Parts team to ensure optimal efficiency
• Conduct regular preventative maintenance tasks and inspections
• Communicate with Lead Hand and/or Service Manager regarding job progress and job status changes
• Maintain organized and safe work area and shop tools

Must haves:

• Licensed Heavy Equipment (421A) or Truck & Coach Technician (310T), preferred
• 2+ years’ experience as a Licensed Mechanic
• Valid Driver’s License with Clean Abstract
• Experience with hydraulic and/or electrical work

Safety Duties & Responsibilities:

• Work in compliance with the appropriate safety legislation/regulations/safety policies
• Report any known workplace hazard or safety violations
• Cooperate with their workplace’s Safety Committee or health and safety representative
• Use any safety equipment, protective devices or clothing required
• Not remove or make ineffective any protective device required by the Company or by the regulations.
