The work of an Associate Director, Research & Analytics is integral to Canadian Blood Services’ role as Canada’s Biological Lifeline.The Associate Director, Research and Analytics is a critical leadership role responsible for driving the research and analytics strategies that underpin the organization’s donor base and registrant growth objectives. This position directly supports the Director of Donor Research, Analytics. The Associate Director will leverage data-driven insights to inform and enhance strategies aimed at expanding the organization’s donor network, increasing engagement, and achieving substantial growth in registrations.Furthermore, the Associate Director, Research and Analytics establishes and maintains a comprehensive reporting framework, in collaboration with the Director, Research & Analytics, ensuring consistency and clarity across various initiatives. By focusing on operational standardization and excellence, they strive to elevate the performance of the Donor Engagement & Corporate Reputation division, positioning it for success within the broader organizational context.Formula for success
- Leveraging your strong leadership skills. provide strategic direction for research, analytics, marketing analytics, and performance measurement initiatives that directly support donor base expansion and registrant growth.
Lead cross-functional collaboration to ensure that research and analytics efforts are aligned with the organization’s growth targets and are integrated into broader strategic initiatives. * Using your superior people management skills, Oversee the day-to-day operations of the research and analytics team, including data analysts, data scientists, and researchers, ensuring that all efforts are focused on supporting the organization’s growth objectives. Implement effective performance management practices, setting clear objectives and evaluating team performance against growth-related goals.
- Drawing on your coaching skills, lead talent development initiatives, providing mentorship, training, and growth opportunities to team members, with a focus on developing skills that drive donor acquisition and retention.
Foster a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement, ensuring that the team is equipped to meet the demands of an expanding donor base. * Utilizing your expertise in Project management and Innovation, lead the planning, execution, and evaluation of major research and analytics projects, ensuring alignment with the organization’s donor growth objectives and strategic timelines. Champion the adoption of cutting-edge tools, methodologies, and technologies that enhance the organization’s ability to scale its donor base and increase registrations.
- Adopting a continuous improvement approach, identify and implement process improvements to optimize efficiency, accuracy, and impact, ensuring that research and analytics initiatives effectively support growth.
- Drawing on your collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills, serve as the primary point of contact for senior leadership, communicating data-driven insights and recommendations that directly support donor base expansion and growth objectives. Prepare and present complex reports, dashboards, and visualizations to non-technical audiences, ensuring clarity and actionable outcomes that align with growth strategies.
- Actively participate in building the skills of the team to develop a deep understanding of all facets of donor research, analytics, and experience, particularly in relation to donor growth and engagement.
Desired education & skills
- Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Market Research, Business Analytics, or a related field required. A Ph.D. is highly preferred.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in research, analytics, or a related field, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Substancial experience using research and analytics to drive Business-to-Business (B2B) and or Business-to-Consumer (B2C) strategies.
- Demonstrated success in managing and developing high-performing teams in a complex organizational environment, particularly in roles focused on growth.
- Specific experience in strategy and financial analysis is an asset.
- Proven capabilities in leading large-scale initiatives.
- Proven customer relationship management skills with a strong ability to manage internal relationships.
