The successful candidate will be at least 15 years of ageBronze Cross CertificationCurrent Standard First Aid with CPR-C certificated within the last 12 months from an approved AB OHS provider. Asset if certification is issued by one of the following five Canadian organizations: Canadian Red Cross, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Lifesaving Society, St John’s Ambulance and/or Canadian Ski Patrol.Instructor certification (YSI, LSI, WSI) considered an asset?National Lifeguard – Pool (NL – Pool) considered an assetEvidence of a clear Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector SearchThree professional references.What does this role look like at YMCA Calgary?Duties and Responsibilities include:
Supervises the operation and safety of the waterslideTell patrons when they are allowed to go, after confirming the water slide and flume are clear from previous patronMonitors the general safety and maintenance of the pool deck, change rooms, and associated areas, and either reports concern to the appropriate staff member or directly address the concernsComplete maintenance tasks as neededConducts routine inspections of the facility’s public areas and equipment to ensure customer safetyWork as a cooperative part of the staff/volunteer teamAttends association in-service trainingWhat qualities do we look for in YMCA Calgary Staff and Volunteers?Our diverse team of staff and volunteers are committed to making a positive impact in the community.
