Job Description: What you’ll doThe Assortment Analyst plays a vital role in optimizing the core product assortment process for the Mark’s Commercial banner. This involves supporting various stages of the assortment planning process, including gathering and analyzing data to develop metrics to assist in selecting the most suitable product assortment for our target customers and industry verticals. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to create essential baseline tools that provide valuable information to the management team, empowering them to make informed, data-driven decisions. This position is well-suited for individuals with strong technological skills, excellent organizational abilities, and strategic analytical capabilities.Contribute to the continuous improvement of Mark’s Commercial Core Assortment Planning process by developing automated tools that enhance efficiency and drive optimal results.Collect and merge data from various sources to facilitate more streamlined and comprehensive analysis.Develop and manage reports utilizing a range of tools to track and communicate essential business metrics.Combine findings and apply actionable guidance from the Merchandise Manager to diverse business partners, fostering effective implementation.Manage and regularly update the Core Assortment tool.Conduct comprehensive assessments before adding new products into the existing assortment, to eliminate duplication of items that service the same end use where/if applicable leveraging product knowledge and an understanding of customer needs.Collaborate across departments within MC to coordinate actions related to discontinued products and ensure seamless communication with the sales force.Partner with the Planning team to facilitate the setup, communication, and ongoing monitoring of forecasting data.Develop and maintain effective communication channels with Vendors.Lead and organize the assortment review process, gathering the required data in a timely manner for effective seasonal assortment reviews and the development of action plans.Attend scheduled meetings with manager to discuss issues and implement strategies that streamline operations and increase efficiency.Collaborate with team members to build comprehensive documentation on various business processes, offering suggestions for optimizing results.Flexible to perform other tasks & projects as required.What you bringStrong analytical, organizational skills with superior attention to detail.Self-starter who can prioritize, multi-task, and work with minimal supervision.Action-oriented and strong communication skills to ensure positive outcomes.Ability to solve problems in an efficient and professional manner.Experience in reporting, analytics, and understanding of sales and inventory practices and their financial and operational impacts.Proficiency in standard office software, particularly Excel and working knowledge of Power BI, Knime, Python, Microsoft Dynamics 365 and PMMExperience in creating processes and collaborating with other team members.University or college degree in the related discipline or high school diploma combined with equivalent work experience.2–3 years minimum of experience in Product Analysis, Purchasing or Supply Chain, Data Analysis preferably in a corporate environmentKnowledge of office productivity software, statistical packages, inventory management systems and ad hoc query tools is an asset E.g. AX Dynamics 365, DBVisualizer, KNIME, MS Excel, PMMRetail and Business to Business knowledgeExcellent communication skills to effectively interact and collaborate with all teams and levels of business.HybridAt Canadian Tire we value flexibility.
