We’re on a continuous journey to build the most flexible and inclusive programs.Ready for tomorrow: We want to enable your success through interesting and challenging work, performance enablement, and learning and development.About the roleAs ATB’s next Senior (Financial) Specialist, reporting to the Director, Product Enablement and Pricing (PE&P), ATB Advisory Services, you will work in support of ATB Advisory team members, ranging from customer facing to senior management, to determine how people, data, processes, communications and technology can best accomplish improvements for the business. You will act as facilitator and liaison, bridging the gap between business, finance, and technical resources. You may also be assigned ad hoc project and/or reporting responsibilities and will conduct analysis on data relating to product and pricing, as well as provide financial analysis and process modeling of current state and future state. You will be required to attend and present at various meetings within ATB.Accountabilities

  • Build a highly collaborative relationship among ATB Business and Wealth team members, Partners, Stakeholders, and Advisors
  • Consult with the senior leaders to provide leadership for new strategies, financial and operational performance analysis, products and systems to ensure ATB has best in class processes and delivery of solutions
  • Represent the Product Enablement & Pricing team internally and externally to ensure organizational alignment and execution of the ATB Business Operating Plan
  • Create new and ad hoc proof of concept reports, analytics, and insights related to Banking Products
  • Build a strong understanding of ATB’s financial and product data, business terminology, and the underlying systems
  • Effectively contribute to vision delivery, road mapping, goal setting by understanding the operating plan, product and pricing enhancements to support business needs
  • Resolve conflicts within team and with cross functional partners
  • Provide financial analysis, insights, and reporting and be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for loan and deposit products and pricing
  • Understand the ‘why’, vision, and goals from business partners to interpret and translate customer’s needs, financial trends and recommendations into business cases, strategy documents and requirements
  • Create detailed business/data analysis documents, highlight problems and opportunities with your insights, and investigate trends to assist in improving the organization’s financial status and overall stability
  • Perform root cause analysis and SWOT Analysis; research and recommend areas of improvement for overall productivity and efficiency
  • Support a business-centric approach to financial analysis and continuous improvement of products and manage changes related to revenue sources
  • Collaborate with Director, Product Enablement and Pricing to create and manage overall risk profiles to address all operational, transactional, regulatory and compliance, financial and liquidity, AML, and cybercrime risks
  • Continuously re-assess risks associated with the ATB Business and Wealth roles and inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructurings, and the impact of new technology
  • Determine process modeling of current state and/or future states
  • Possesses a fundamental understanding of the deposit and lending products from a financial perspective and able to compute relevant “time-value-of-money” calculations

Skills, experience & requirementsDistinctive Skills:

  • In-depth understanding of Banking Industry Domain Knowledge including Liquidity, Credit and Financial Systems
  • In-depth knowledge of the Liquidity, Credit, and Financial Systems
  • Ability to develop a deep understanding of business functional areas throughout the organization, while sharing valuable insights with the team
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Highly developed financial, analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills (ability to devise creative, workable solutions within established policies, or provide analysis and recommendations for opportunities or policy changes)
  • Ability to network & cultivate productive working relationships at various levels within the organization
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to interact effectively with Business Unit Management, Lines of Business, as well as external vendors
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools and Google Suite including experience with MS Excel, Sheets, App Script and Tableau
  • Knowledge and technical understanding of reporting- working knowledge of SQL, Google BigQuery, and/or database design
  • Knowledge of SAP Transactional Banking System or other SAP Banking modules would be an asset
  • Self-directed, self-motivated & committed to continuous learning
  • Strong research, time management, prioritization and organizational skills
  • Ability to articulate and document value added processes, business cases, opportunity assessments, executive summaries and status reports
  • Possess a growth mindset – keeps abreast of the latest changes and solutions and constantly demonstrates eagerness to learn
  • Excellent strategic and analytical thinking, with the ability to challenge, present new ideas, spot opportunities, drive change and influence decisions
  • Self-starter, keen eye for details, ability to identify trends, question abnormalities and proactively resolving outlying data points
  • Advanced knowledge of Business Analysis tools and techniques and how they are effectively applied to specific business analysis needs

Accreditation:

  • University degree in Commerce, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related field
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of financial analysis experience
  • Experience with the development of complex financial, analytical, and statistical models
  • Completion of a relevant designation, such as the CTP (Certified Treasury Professional), CFA, CPA, or PMP would be considered an asset
  • Advanced knowledge of Business Analysis tools and techniques and how they are effectively applied to specific business analysis needs
