This position is working within PETRONAS Canada LNG Ltd. (PCLL). PCLL is a wholly-owned subsidiary of PETRONAS that governs PETRONAS’ investment in the LNG Canada Project (where PETRONAS owns a 25% interest). The LNG Canada project involves building a liquefied natural gas (LNG) export facility (approx. 13 MTPA capacity) in Kitimat, BC.We are expanding our PCLL team and have a rare and exciting opportunity for you to join our Commercial Operations team. Reporting to the Manager of LNG Planning, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring smooth execution of gas supply operations, plant monitoring, and LNG offtakes. In this role, you will be responsible for protecting and maximizing margins while fulfilling contractual obligations, minimizing operational exposure, and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.As a key member of our small, high-performing team, you will work closely with counterparts across the value chain to collect, analyze, and interpret critical data to develop integrated supply planning strategies for near and long-term horizons.   • Plan and execute the formulation and establishment of gas supply, lifting, and delivery plans for LNG.
  • Execute sales/trading documentation and transactions, optimize resources, and apply risk mitigation tools in line with the Work Process Manual, Limits of Authority and statutory regulations
  • Participate in the on-call rotation and provide backup coverage as need
  • Execute month-end closing activities effectively and efficiently
  • Assist in the preparation, negotiation and finalization of operational terms and conditions in contracts, business arrangements, or new infrastructure readiness
  • Monitor and manage contract performance
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the value chain to ensure smooth and efficient operations
  • Identify non-compliance risks related to local and international rules and regulations and drive operational excellence according to PETRONAS Policies and Guidelines
  • Conduct studies related to primary commercial operations to enhance operational excellence, improve system efficiency, address process gaps and improvements, optimize product availability and cost effectiveness

WHAT YOU BRING:

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline, with a preference in Logistics & Transportation, Marketing, Economics, Business Administration
  • 7-10 years of relevant experience, preferably within the energy industry
  • Experience in handling of operations and logistics particularly in refinery, plant, terminal and marketing environment
  • Experience in international trades/ business is an asset
  • A sense of urgency with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet the time demands of unpredictable activities
  • Strong commercial and operations acumen and an understanding of commodity markets in North America, with a focus on Canada
  • Advanced management, planning, problem solving, decision making and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to tailor messages appropriately to address the target audience
  • Exceptional interpersonal and collaboration skills; the ability to forge, grow, and sustain positive relationships with diverse groups
