This role will provide leadership in supervising analysts in the design and maintenance of data collection, transformation, and storage processes, the creation of dynamic dashboards, and the establishment of a robust reporting framework. The Senior Analyst will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify key data reporting needs and support strategy execution and renewal efforts through the development of data-driven insights.This role is pivotal in enhancing data-driven decision-making across the organization. By integrating data seamlessly and developing comprehensive reporting tools, the Senior Analyst will enable senior leadership to make informed strategic decisions. Key Accountabilities:

  • Lead efforts to integrate data from multiple sources and implement and oversee data quality checks to maintain data integrity and consistency.
  • Assist in the development of standards related to procedures and mechanisms for the definition, collection, verification of data and information, and for the maintenance of information inventories and data repositories within the strategy portfolio.
  • Provide functional guidance and expertise in business intelligence technology areas, specifically relating to reporting, dashboards, metrics/analytics, and data transformation process automation.
  • Create and manage a comprehensive business intelligence reporting framework that standardizes reporting processes across the strategic functions within the organization.
  • Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of interactive dashboards and reports using tools like Power BI or similar platforms.
  • Guide and train other analysts in process automation efforts by implementing automated reporting solutions to deliver timely and accurate insights to stakeholders.
  • Present complex data findings in a clear and concise manner to stakeholders across levels, ensuring comprehension and actionable outcomes.
  • Support efforts across the Strategy Realization department by providing data-driven insights through data integration and reporting processes.
  • Train and mentor other analysts on best practices in data integration, process automation and business intelligence reporting.
  • Partner with various divisions, including among others Corporate Planning Integration, Enterprise Risk Management, Change Management and Corporate Performance and Sustainability to understand their data and reporting needs and deliver tailored solutions.

Job RequirementsEducation:

  • Undergraduate degree in an area related to Business, Data Science, Engineering or Computer Science or an acceptable combination of other relevant education, experience, and training.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience in data management, integration, processing and reporting for business intelligence or strategic planning purposes, or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.
  • Demonstrated experience in dashboard development and data visualization using BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.
  • Extensive experience with data process automation, ensuring efficiency and error-free data handling.
  • Experience building collaborative networks and working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience working with both structured and unstructured data to form conclusions and provide recommendations.
  • Demonstrated experience in producing high quality reports and other deliverables for all levels of the organization, including Board of Directors, Executive Management, Senior Leaders, and employees.
  • Extensive experience in leading and providing functional guidance and trainings to a team / project teams.

Knowledge:

  • Advanced knowledge of Business Intelligence industry standards, best practices and methodologies.
  • Advanced knowledge of leading practices and concepts in business strategy and performance measurement and reporting.
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of the techniques and practices of data collection, manipulation and validation, the organization of information for reporting purposes. Advanced knowledge of data process automation tools and techniques
  • Proficiency in programming languages (ex: R, SQL, Python)
  • Advanced knowledge of data process automation tools and techniques
  • Understanding of machine learning and advanced analytical techniques considered an asset

Abilities:

  • Solid data consolidation skills, including ability to work with both structured and unstructured data to find meaning, form conclusions and provide recommendations through intuitive and meaningful reports and tools.
  • Well-developed analytical and critical thinking skills, with ability to think outside the box and bring creative approaches to the table.
  • Strong consultation and facilitation skills, with ability to gather information from and lead discussions with multiple stakeholders.
  • Heightened attention to detail, with complementary ability to assess the relative significance of information.
  • Strong organizational skills and project management competencies, with demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong proficiency with Excel,Tableau, Power BI, PowerPlatform, PowerPoint and other reporting and presentation software.

Working conditions:

  • This position is based at Ottawa Head Office but may be eligible for a flexible work arrangement.
