  • Ensure that Trican’s core value, “Safe equipment and operations” is the priority in all activities
  • Perform basic laboratory testing without supervision
  • Operate and maintain basic laboratory testing equipment as directed
  • Conduct various general laboratory duties as requested such as cleanup, maintenance, and calibration
  • Comply with all laboratory policies and procedures while performing functions within the laboratory environment
  • Present blending recommendations to internal coordinators, technical services, and sales departments as required
  • Prepare various cement reports and documents based on analysis of various laboratory tests
  • Become knowledgeable with oilfield cementing practices and terminology
  • Stay current with all API specifications and industry guidelines
  • Provide technical support to various internal Trican contacts

Experience & Skills:

  • Post-secondary education with preference to a Degree or Technical Certificate related towards the Petroleum Industry
  • Experience in general laboratory techniques is an asset
  • All applicable field certificates being up-to-date is an asset
  • Admirable interpersonal skills conveyed in a pleasant and professional manner when interacting with employees, management, and customers
  • Sound analytical and interpretational skills
  • Problem-solving techniques to complications that may arise
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to prioritize multiple activities with tight deadlines
  • High attention to detail
  • Able to work independently at a fast pace and produce quality work

Working Conditions:

  • Regular office hours, Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours laboratory duties as well as provide assistance or advice at any given time
