The opportunity:The Sr. Manager, IT Applications main priorities will be to manage the day-to-day distribution team workload including our 3rd party consultants and vendors and is directly responsible for developing and maintaining a draft roadmap/long range plan. Additional responsibilities include managing priorities with the business, projects, and the distribution team members. The Sr. Manager, IT Applications will develop, implement, and support the distribution related business processes and systems. The mandate will include status reporting to the Director IT Applications, work on global distribution strategies, support in resolving production issues, analyzing & developing solutions to address internal and external customer requirements and internal business initiatives and/or projects.This position requires significant technical expertise however the selected candidate must also possess a good leadership track record, organizational and reporting skills, strong analytical skills, demonstrate good process understanding, ability to mentor and coach the team members, and possess excellent customer service skills.The Sr. Manager, IT Applications will be working under the supervision of the Director, IT Applications.The role
- Perform overall Distribution Status reporting to Director, IT Applications
- Ensure workload to other Distribution BA’s is distributed accordingly
- Define business requirements for system changes, work closely with the software development 3rd party team to develop system changes, test changes and manage implementation of new functionality with IT resources and users.
- Manage Team on the following Admin tasks – ensure holiday and vacation coverage and Timesheet approvals, yearly objective setting and reviews.
- Work with project teams to develop workload plans and Distribution BA assignments
- Ensure, and participate in, daily business support, including setup of new Distribution partners and the validation of Distribution transactions performed in Gildan’s warehouse management, labor management and ERP systems.
- Support users in understanding the use of the Distribution and Labor Management application software and transactions.
- Report up / escalate any Distribution issues
- Ensures documentation of new processes, or procedures; creation of testing documentation; create specifications or proposals; training materials; all in a Continuous improvement / system development life cycle context.
- Provide production analysis & support for internal and external customers.
- Coaching the Distribution BA team members and foster growth.
- Manages vendor relationships as the key stakeholder for all IT Distribution related services required to support the Distribution organization, while also ensuring alignment with Global IT teams
- Work closely with Senior IT leadership to develop, align, and maintain technology and support roadmaps required to fully support operations.
- Identifies process improvement opportunities and new technologies that can improve Distribution operations. Builds business cases for and oversees implementation of new processes and technology as identified
- Build and establish a collaborative environment while fostering and maintaining relationships with key business stakeholders
The requirements
- 7 years’ experience working in a distribution related environment and inventory control/ management is required combined with supply chain/logistics
- University degree: IT, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Logistics, or equivalent
- 5 years’ experience with a WMS Warehouse Management System (Manhattan preferred)
- 3-5 years’ experience with an ERP (JD Edwards: Distribution module (preferred)
- Designed and carried out training programs
- Strong system and process orientation
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong interpersonal skills, and coordination abilities
- Team management experience of 5 or more team members
- Excellent written and oral skills in English and French (Spanish is an asset)
- Traveling is required outside Canada – project dependent (10% to 25% of the time).
- This position requires proficiency in a language other than French to support customers, employees or markets located outside the province of Quebec or requiring services in a language other than French – mainly English.
