Today, we’re driving the energy transition with more than 30,000 of the brightest minds across 54 countries.Here, what you do matters.Job Overview:The Environmental Specialist uses their in-depth knowledge, experience of best practices, and internal/external issues to improve the Environment discipline within McDermott. They will act as a resource for colleagues with less experience and share their conceptual and practical expertise related to the Environment discipline. They will be responsible for solving complex Environmental problems using discipline-specific knowledge and working independently with minimal guidance. The Senior Environmental Specialist impacts a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities with the Environment team and other related teams and ensures that they work within the appropriate guidelines and policies.Specific – Environmental Reporting AnalystReporting to the Environmental Manager, you will be responsible for developing the data analysis program, reviewing environmental data, and preparing environmental reports. You will support the environmental and regulatory and compliance team. This is mostly an office-based position with the ability to support in the field. The position will support the environmental team on an oil and gas project in British Columbia.Responsibilities:Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Support the implementation of the environmental management program by providing high quality data for environmental reporting, KPI tracking, analysis and insights.
  • Research and establish data processes for measuring and reporting on environmental metrics.
  • Develop data collection tools and identify ways to automate for efficiency.
  • Develop tracking templates and provide guidance to completing them to the end users.
  • Communicate reporting requirements to subcontractors and review submittals for compliance to the reporting program.
  • Track data to support the Key Performance Indicators.
  • On a regular basis review the environmental action log(s) and communicate open actions to the Environmental team.
  • Enter environmental data into corporate data systems including but not limited to environmental incident investigations, and other environmental documents.
  • Promote environmental awareness by participating in daily toolbox talks, weekly safety meetings and other scheduled meetings.
  • Develop environmental communication and work with the communications team to issue.
  • Review subcontractor environmental monitoring data and communicate any identified issues to the Environmental Manager and/or lead.
  • Prepare, review, and provide input into weekly, monthly, and periodic environmental reports.
  • Participate in regular meetings with client and subcontractor environmental team as requested and generate meeting minutes.
  • Develop and provide positive relationships with subcontractors and client construction and environmental teams.
  • Monitor construction activities as they relate to environmental protection, including implementation of environmental protection plans if requested and qualified to do so.
  • And other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:Essential Qualifications and Education:

  • A bachelor’s degree or technical diploma in environmental, biological or earth sciences.
  • 2-4 years’ experience with a focus on data entry, data analysis, and preparing reports.
  • Environmental monitoring or coordinator experience with an ability to focus on data analysis, communication and reporting writing will be considered.
  • Experience with data visualization tools and techniques.
  • Familiar with relevant BC and Federal legislation and regulations.

  • Self-motivated with strong initiative, time management and interpersonal skills.
  • A valid driver’s license
