  • completion of complex and/or rush certificates, auto ID cards and third-party forms
  • act as a subject matter expert resource for Aon Client Services
  • perform analyses
  • developing/ producing / sensitive reports, plans and/or outputs

As a People Manager, manages a unit (complexity/ risk/impact):

  • managing employees performing specialized work or diverse work to achieve results
  • providing oversight to deliver results in line with the unit’s goals
  • overseeing quality assurance within the unit and adherence to procedures and policies
  • operationalizing portfolio-wide strategic goals
  • Work with impact across large scope (complexity/ risk/impact) unit
  • Successfully supports and markets vision to key stakeholders with organization, including members of Canadian leadership team

Role Complexity/Problem Solving

  • Resolves issues with impact on client relationships (external/ internal), client operations or technical methodology
  • Resolves issues using analytical tools with minimal guidance
  • Develops conclusions from analysis and applies results to business operations
  • Discretion & Decision Making
  • May provide input into budget decisions; may forecast upcoming client work; makes medium cost expenditures within prescribed parameters
  • Provides significant input into technical / technological decisions for the unit
  • Provides input into the unit’s business plan
  • Large scope/impact decisions; work has high risk to unit’s mid-term to long term results

InteractionDevelops and manages collaborative relationships/ networking with multiple-level internal contacts across units or potentially the portfolio to:

  • advise and build positive support on critical issues/ solutions related to area of expertise
  • influentially negotiate/ promote resources to achieve mutually desired results

Develops and manages collaborative relationships with mid to senior-level external stakeholders to:

  • advise on issues; and negotiate critical deliverables and contracts
  • investigate and address short- and mid-term needs, and translates needs into results
  • participate in client sales meetings as the subject matter expert and/or advocate with carriers on behalf of clients’ ad influence significant outcomes

Leadership and Development

  • Provide input into performance evaluations of work team and as a manager, conducts performance reviews of direct subordinates and provides input into selection of new hires and/or terminations
  • Coach/Mentor/Role Model to junior levels; provides input into development needs within the work team OR as a manager, accountable for development plans of direct reports
  • Contributes to body of knowledge within area of expertise; conducts training/advises on training needs OR as a manager, ensures all members under supervision have and maintain the skills/ licensing and certifications required as applicable; arranges /conducts training
  • Seasoned professional/Senior specialist level OR small scope manager of an intermediate/ senior professional team; comprehensive related experience
  • Advanced knowledge of functional area

  • Commercial insurance expertise or related field expertise of 5+ years is preferred.
  • Must have and maintain appropriate insurance broker’s license.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Developed interpersonal and collaborative skills, with the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Outstanding customer service.
  • Proficiency with the MS Office suite.
  • Post-secondary education in an insurance-related field or equivalent years of office experience is preferred.
  • Working towards CAIB, CRM or CIP is considered an asset.
