Title of the Job: Senior Technical Specialist – Aircraft Integration

Location: Saint-Laurent, QC

Job Description: About This RoleIn this role, the Senior Technical Specialist – Aircraft Integration will be expected to:

  • Follow the general guidance given by the Chief Aircraft Integrator and Design Lead.
  • Understand how an aircraft design is integrated and be able to identify consequences of design choices such that the aircraft performs as intended.
  • Identify areas of risk and pro-actively develop mitigation plans with their teammates, suppliers and partners.
  • Provide direction and expertise in their own specialist field(s) and participate in solving our collective challenges.
  • Do what the team needs of them: be flexible, curious, constructive and be a great teammate.
  • Provide leadership and take ownership for items that require it.
  • Use skills, broad expertise, and/or unique knowledge, to meet the program’s goals in creative and effective ways.
  • Undertake and/or refine design, development studies and prototyping for new system architecture as well as bringing the existing design to a certifiable condition.
  • Research technical development in the industry to remain aware of new innovative technologies that may affect and improve current system’s performance.
  • Participate in the aircraft ground and flight test program, including developing test plans, defining instrumentation needs, analyzing data and proposing conclusions from the testing.
  • In conjunction with our certification delegates, ensuring that our design complies with the applicable certification requirements and generating supporting standard proposals, analysis, and reports.
  • Prepare the appropriate documents to support certification activities.
  • Lead technical discussions with suppliers, partners, and customers.
  • Resolve issues consistently and make recommendations.
  • Gain an understanding of how our product will be used in a flight training environment, look ahead to ensure that the design will meet customer requirements and that all the supporting infrastructure is identified and harmonized with the aircraft design and capabilities.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to junior engineers.
  • Represent the company and program at external events such as technical conferences and committees.
  • Ability to code is an asset, preferably in Python.

Requirements and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in job-related field.
  • Minimum of 8 to 12 years of relevant experience.
  • Fluen cy in English and French.
  • Expert knowledge in at least one of the following fields, as it pertains to aircraft development: Propulsion Integration, Flight Sciences , Safety Analysis, System Integration, Certification.
