- This position provides the option to work from home on Mondays and Fridays each week, with the requirement to report to the primary NOVA Chemicals work location on Tuesdays through Thursdays. Employees can opt out of the hybrid schedule and will be expected to work Monday-Friday from the primary work location.

Together we can create a better, more circular tomorrow.NOVA Chemicals, headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, is wholly-owned by Mubadala Investment Company of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.The Projects Coordinator is responsible for leading and managing the project throughout the project delivery cycle, including front-end-loading design, detailed design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and close-out. Project objectives are established in service of safe, reliable, and cost-effective facilities.You Will Use Your Expertise To:
- Successfully complete projects ranging in value.
- Provide project management leadership that encompasses the entire project lifecycle (Engineering and Construction) to deliver best in class Responsible Care®, schedule and cost metric competitiveness.
- Manage a portfolio of multiple projects against a defined budget, schedule, and quality performance criteria.
- Obtain the needed resources across your assigned portfolio to ensure all projects are delivered efficiently.
- Be accountable to deliver against the Project Development and Implementation (PD&I) process across your portfolio by managing project delivery and performance of the engineering contractors, equipment/material suppliers and construction contractors, including taking corrective action and exercising change management as warranted.
- Ensure successful integration, collaboration, and engagement with all project stakeholders.
- Represent projects at Decision Boards for funding approvals with effective verbal and written communication.
What We Are Looking For:Engineering degree with 8+ years of related experience OR technical school diploma with 10+ years of related experience OR 12+ years combination of post-secondary technical education and related experience OR 12+ years of related experience.
- Engineering, construction or project management experience in petrochemical manufacturing, oil and gas processing or other industries with similar process facilities is preferred.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is considered an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully deliver petrochemical facility projects valued between $100K and $20MM total installed cost (TIC).
- Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple projects effectively and of varying size through various stages of the project life cycle including construction & commissioning.
- Experience and capability to effectively negotiate and manage multimillion-dollar contracts.
- Strong business analysis and decision-making skills.
- Excellent interpersonal communication, leadership and conflict resolution skills.
- Experience and capability to manage project uncertainty proactively and effectively through accurate risk identification and management, and design mitigation/contingency strategies.
- Experience and capability to coach and develop high-performing teams and individuals.
- Demonstrated capability to manage multi-discipline teams and achieve results through others.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel & Word.
- Working knowledge of common engineering information management systems.

Additional Information:
- Relocation will be considered for this position
- Compensation will be commensurate with education and experience
- This role requires up to 10% travel
- Work will be conducted both indoors and outdoors in all seasons
- In order to fulfil the duties of this role, the successful candidate will be required to wear respiratory protective equipment. Candidate must successfully pass a fit test and be physically able to wear a respirator
- The successful candidate is required to provide proof of a valid driver’s license
