Job Description: DescriptionThe Kettle Worker provides the secure and courteous oversight of a designated Christmas Kettle.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:The incumbent is responsible for the following range of job duties characteristic, or typical of the job class:– Greets and thanks donors courteously– Presents a positive image (well-groomed/dressed) for TSA while on duty– Remains at the Kettle for the full shift (until relieved), ensuring security of donations received– Responds to questions/queries from potential donors regarding SA ministries and programs– Performs other duties as assignedNOTE: Not all incumbents perform all of the duties described above but perform a similar range of duties.QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL ATTAINED:The successful job applicant will have completed Public School.NOTE: An alternative level of education and experience may be acceptable.MINIMUM PRIOR RELATED EXPERIENCE:The incumbent must have the following experience before hire:Up to three months of prior related experience, or previous experience working with the public.PHYSICAL EFFORT/DEXTERITY REQUIRED:The performance of the job requires continuously hosting the kettle, standing for long periods.WORK ENVIRONMENT:The incumbent’s work environment is typically in Malls/Stores.The incumbent will work under the following disagreeable conditions:For some – outdoor kettles means continual exposure to elementsInterested applicants must respond in writing by October 27th, 2024 to:Hiring Committee:e-mail: [email protected]The Salvation Army will accommodate candidates as required under applicable human rights legislation.
