We are hiring an experienced RED SEAL METAL FABRICATOR (FITTER/WELDER) tostart immediately! Our client works in a Multi Trade Construction industry, and their business is booming! • Layout, cut and fabricate structural steel, plate, misc. iron, alloys including build of mezzanines, staircases, and handrails
• Assemble and fit metal sections and plates together to form complete units or sub-units such as frames, plates, grinders, and chutes
• Fasten the fitted assembly by welding and bolting as required
• Perform a self-check method to ensure quality
• Material handling and rigging, hoisting and lifting equipment to move materials and complete assemblies
• Weld products according to approved procedures to ensure internal quality measures are applied
• Use hand tools and equipment such as: plate rollers, press brakes, saws, iron worker, plate shears, plasma cutters, oxyfuel cutting torches, grinders and drills to bend, cut, punch, drill or form metal components
• Pass all required welding procedures in accordance with testing requirements set by CWB
• Organize and maintain cleanliness of equipment and work in a safe and professional manner
• Perform some lifting as required
• Follow all safety rules as prescribed by Health & Safety legislation and company

Skills:

• Strong visualize in 3 dimensions, good coordination, mechanical aptitude, manual dexterity and ability to perform math-related functions
• Read and interpret fabrication drawings and specifications
• Select the right materials as per work order

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 Years Experience with Structural Steel Fitting + Welding
• Red seal metal fabricator (fitter) or can demonstrate equivalent experience
• Valid or previously held CWB certification (required)
• 437A Welder/Fitter in Metal Fabrication (preferred)
• Red Seal Certification (preferred)
• Experience in structural steel fabrication an asset
• Experience with fabrication of misc. metals fabrication including handrails, staircases, platforms, catwalks, etc.
• Experienced in GMAW, MCAW, FCAW, and GTAW welding processes
• Current or prior experience and certification with Forklift and telehandler preferred

Shift hours:

• Monday – Thursday 7AM-4:30PM
• Friday 7AM-3:30PM
• Overtime and weekends as needed.
