Job Description: Join our Global Technology Services and Support Team!We are looking for a candidate with a combination of direct hands-on industry Cloud and ITAM experience. A background that combines technical and business aspects of hardware, software, end-to-end cloud management, and technical currency, and FinOps. The candidate will be passionate, persistent, and detail oriented with an ability to clearly articulate an objective view of the IT asset inventory, associated risks, and opportunities to enable business decision making.This role is key to Manulife’s digital transformation, including evolving, maturing, and automating processes that manage our IT assets. The successful candidate will report directly to the Manager, IT Asset Management.Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement asset management strategies, policies, and procedures for cloud-based IT assets.
  • Track and manage the lifecycle of cloud assets, including procurement, deployment, maintenance, and decommissioning.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of all cloud assets, including software licenses, subscriptions, and virtual machines.
  • Monitor and analyze cloud usage and spending to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Collaborate with unit leaders on cost optimization strategies, including rightsizing resources and identifying unused or underutilized assets.
  • Provide regular reports on cloud spending and usage trends to senior management.
  • Conduct regular audits of cloud assets to verify compliance and identify any discrepancies.
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to cloud asset management processes and policies.
  • Work closely with IT, finance, procurement, and other groups to ensure alignment of cloud asset management activities with organizational goals.
  • Use of cloud management platforms, asset management tools, and other technologies to automate and streamline asset management processes.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in cloud asset management and recommend improvements to existing processes and tools.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years + of experience in IT asset management, with at least 2 years focused on cloud asset management.
  • Experience with major cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and cloud management tools.
  • Solid understanding of cloud computing concepts, technologies, and standard processes.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
  • Proficiency in asset management software and cloud management platforms.

Certifications (Preferred but not required):

  • IT Asset Management (ITAM) Certification (e.g., Certified IT Asset Manager – CITAM)
  • Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect)
