We are looking for you to join our team!The Continuous Improvement Team supports business units with their problem solving and project management needs. Specializing in Lean Six Sigma tools and methodology, we work with business areas to improve processes and guide them to success backed by strong project management and change management techniques. We drive Continuous Improvement by focusing on business innovation, knowledge, and experience from the Subject Matter Experts within the business area to improve stagnant processes and eliminate rework.The position provides services related to evaluating, planning and implementing improvements in processes and practices. This position will provide frontline process improvement support working with senior continuous improvement specialists and branch resources to ensure change implications are managed.Acting as a change agent, the Continuous Improvement Specialist is accountable to analyze business requirements in order to develop business solutions to meet the business needs. The position will question the current way of doing things including considering people capacity, workflow, change leadership, and technology; build consensus, harmonize disparate processes; and recommend changes to business practices that result in increased efficiencies and effectiveness of organizational business functions.The Continuous Improvement Specialist will provide input into the defining, designing, and facilitating the implementation of continuous improvement programs. The position will function within the parameters of applicable legislation, regulations, policies, directives, and guidelines. In addition to analyzing process improvement programs and potential results (including mapping “as is” and “to be” processes), the Continuous Improvement Specialist will be involved in establishing and maintaining performance metrics to measure the success of continuous improvement programs; and the development and facilitation of the implementation of process excellence supports in relation to program governance, project reviews, communications, and training.To be successful in this position, knowledge of project management, change management, process improvement is required, as well as Lean Six Sigma experience, knowledge and understanding of related tools and techniques. Candidates must possess strong verbal, presentation, analytical, and written communication skills and be able to balance multiple demands in a fast-paced environment. The ability to develop and maintain relationships and collaborative networks is critical. The ability to influence without authority, and motivation to challenge the “way we’ve always done it” are key to being successful in this position.Role Responsibilities Cont’dThe primary responsibilities for the Continuous Improvement Analyst include, but are not limited to:

  • Supporting business areas to identify and facilitate business improvements and initiatives to meet business needs. Providing support from a business process perspective to ensure that changes can be translated from high-level business requirements into feasible and efficient business and operational process
  • Analyzing the business change and assess the impacts on the organization and the business
  • Reviewing, analyzing, and creating detailed documentation of business application functional requirements and user needs, including processes, workflow, and program functions
  • Reviewing and evaluating system deliverables combining technical ability with a user perspective to ensure satisfaction is met.
  • Assessing or streamlining opportunities that are manual or automated and making recommendations to the business sponsor or senior management
  • Conducting business requirements review sessions with staff to identify requirements that are needed and document the process.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to articulate complex concepts and write logical, well thought through documents in a clear and concise manner
  • Research and investigative skills, and commitment to continuous improvement and innovation through use of creative thinking
  • Organizational and time management skills, including ability to prioritize and manage multiple activities and project tasks in a fast paced and rapidly evolving environment with multiple and often conflicting priorities and deadlines.

  • University graduation in a related field (Social Sciences, Operations Management, Business, Economics, or related field)

Equivalency: Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of:

  • 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
  • 1 year of experience for 1 year of education

Assets:

  • 2 – 4 years of progressively responsible related experience in process improvement methodologies and established process analysis and improvement tools; and Process Improvement and Statistical Process Control methodologies
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt training
  • Knowledge and experience in change management, process improvement methodologies, business analysis and project management.
