Job Description: Position Overview:We are looking for a Mechatronics Engineer to join our innovative team in Vancouver, BC. This role involves designing, developing, and optimizing automation technologies for use in chemistry, biotech, and pharmaceutical fields. You will work with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and chemists to develop and implement self-driving lab automation systems.Key Responsibilities

• Automation Development:Design, prototype, and optimize automation technologies for chemical synthesis and analysis.
• Systems Integration:Oversee the integration and maintenance of automation systems with lab equipment, including robotic arms and analytical instruments.
• Collaboration:Work closely with chemists and engineers to enhance experimental workflows and automation solutions.
• Technical Communication:Present research findings and collaborate on data visualization for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Safety Compliance:Ensure adherence to lab safety protocols and proper chemical material handling procedures.

Essential Skills and Experience

• Strong experience with Python for coding and debugging
• Proficiency in parametric CAD software (SolidWorks, Fusion 360)
• Hands-on experience with robotic systems and lab automation
• Knowledge of UPLC/HPLC instruments and chromatography systems
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
