It provides mental health services, employment programs, emergency shelter, community, health and housing services, and justice programs to youth in the Ottawa area, serving between 2,500 and 3,000 at-risk individuals aged 12+ and their families every month. YSB employs 350 caring professionals in a unionized environment in over 26 locations across Ottawa.Reporting to the Director, People, Culture and Belonging the Talent Acquisition Coordinator will be the main support person for the Partners, People, Culture and Belonging and the hiring managers in performing full-cycle recruitment and selection processes at all levels. This position is essential in identifying, attracting, and hiring top talent to meet YSB mission and strategies.What you will do:
- Support end-to-end recruitment efforts for various positions including full-time, part-time, and students
- Build talent pipelines for current and future job opening
- Develop a network and database of potential future hires including past applicants and referred candidates
- Coordinate all internal recruitment processes including job posting, transfers or promotion of selected employees ensuring all applicable standards in hiring are met.
- Coordinate and schedule interviews, ensuring timely communication between candidates, partners, people, culture and belonging and hiring managers.
- Maintain and update job descriptions and requirements for all roles.
- Serve as the point of contact for candidates throughout the recruitment and selection processes, ensuring a seamless and positive experience. Provide information on company, facilities, job opportunities and realistic job previews to potential applicants as necessary
- Screen resumes and conduct initial candidate screenings. Ensure timely follow-up with all candidates, including status updates, interview scheduling, and feedback
- Assist in preparing and sending offer letters and employment agreements.
- Facilitate pre-employment screening processes (e.g., background checks, reference checks).
- Support new hire onboarding by organizing orientation schedules and providing relevant materials.
- Maintain accurate records and files for all candidates using the organization’s applicant tracking system (ATS).
- Double-check completed documents to ensure all required components are present and that they are complete, then forward completed documentation.
- Assist in writing and forwarding rejection letters.
- Provide reports and updates to the Director, People, Culture and Belonging regarding the status of open positions and recruitment metrics.
- Provide direct support to the Partners, People, Culture, and Belonging team on any matters related to recruitment and selection.
- Assist in strategizing and implementing hiring practices that align with the organization’s DEI goals.
- Participate in planning, development and execution of recruitment strategies including the coordination of YSB’s presence to career fairs;
- Offer recommendations and feedback to the team on improving the recruitment process.
- Partner with hiring managers and department leads to understand hiring
- Perform other special projects as assigned.
This opportunity may be right for you if you have/are:Education and Experience:
- Diploma/Degree in Human Resources or related filed.
- Minimum 2 years of full-cycle recruitment.
- Experience working with or knowledge of collective agreements
- Experience working with ADP Workforce Now will be considered and asset

- You are able to work with minimal supervision and willing to travel to YSB’s different locations in Ottawa.
- Ability to analyze and interpret the needs of clients and offer the appropriate options, solutions, and resolutions required
- Able to respond quickly in a dynamic and changing environment.
- Available to work evenings and overtime when required
- Ability to work with variety of sensitive information and to maintain confidentiality
- Sound knowledge of HR practices, Labour Law, OHA, Ontario Human Rights Code and ESA
- Sound knowledge of market trends and best practices
- Excellent in all MS Office
