This role will be based in Saskatoon and start in December 2024. It will be a 1-year contract for the Avenue Living project, with the possibility of extension.Reports to: General SuperintendentEssential Duties and Responsibilities:Leads and implements all aspects of Clark Builders Safety / Building LIFE programEnsures proactive project safety management and security practices in keeping with the Clark Builders Safety & Loss Prevention program and applicable legislationPartner with the Senior Project Leader on the delivery of the project; ensuring all project drivers including safety, schedule, budget, and client satisfaction are achievedLead teams through all phases of construction such as preconstruction, project site set-up and logisticsPlans/reviews the construction program with the Project Manager and Business Development/Estimating staff including procedures, temporary facilities, construction procedures, equipment and manpowerChampion and implement LEED and Last Planner strategies on the project to support ongoing continuous improvement and achieving project efficienciesManage employee performance and development, give constructive feedback and support recruitmentParticipate in Clark Builders University (CBU) initiatives to further personal growth and knowledge baseAct as a liaison between Field Operations and other departmentsSupport the Project Manager in project forecasts and oversee project financialsParticipate in month-end project reviewsPlan/facilitate field trade meetings to ensure project metrics are achievedReviews all plans, specifications and project documentation for the purposes of discrepancies and constructability reviewWork with the Project Team in the development of the Project Master scheduleUtilizes Last Planner System and 3-week look-ahead to manage on site schedules, resources, trade commencement and material deliveriesPlans, coordinates and participates in the project completion and handover process.Ensure QA/QC is managed and documented to demonstrate compliance with the Contract documentsProactively maintains required training to meet the expectations of the role as outlined in the CBGOC HSE Training Standards MatrixSkills & Knowledge:Leads and manages resources and Clark Builders onsite workforce to maximize productivityDirects and facilitates training of the Clark Builders’ workforceParticipates and contributes to individual and team performance feedback discussionsStrong knowledge of building envelopeExperience with renovation-type projectsPromotes positive morale and encourage growth opportunities through leadership responsibilitiesMaintains good relations with all project stakeholders and the publicAbility to foresee, pivot and adjust strategies and behaviors in order to maximize project success and educate others in this scopeStrong interpersonal and negotiating skills required to interact with a variety of stakeholders including project team, trade partners, consultants, clients, and the general publicOutstanding communication, organizational and supervisory skills with ability to manage complex and numerous competing prioritiesStrong working knowledge of MS Outlook, Excel, Word & ProjectProven skills in an interview to support project pursuitsBuilds and aligns a team to a common goal in challenging situationsDemonstrates/implements conflict management skills and decisive decision-making skills combined with the proven ability to consistently find creative win-win solution and / or resolutionsQualifications:5+ years trade experience or relevant post-secondary education5+ years superintendent/relevant project site leadership experience (on-site experience mandatory)Journeyman trade certificate or relevant post-secondary educationValid Class 5 Driver’s LicenseKnowledge of all Prime Contract and subcontract documents, drawings, specifications, and relevant key driversWhat’s in it for you?Competitive salaries, vacation time, and four personal daysPerformance program, annual salary reviews and bonus opportunitiesRobust Employee Recognition Program “CLARK STARS” – an assortment of initiatives and rewards designed to highlight and celebrate our people’s talent, efforts, and contributions to living Our PurposeCommunity involvement initiatives through the “Give Back” program, including donation matching, corporate donations and sponsorship, and support of employee volunteeringComprehensive health and benefits plan available from the first day of employment provided by Manulife – i.e. $750 per paramedical annual coverage limitsAccess to Manulife Vitality Group BenefitsA Flexible Spending Account 100% funded by Clark Builders with an annual allocation amount of $500 which employees can allocate into Health Spending, Lifestyle Spending, or both.Ability to select from two benefit plan options (Core or Enhanced) through ManulifeHolistic Wellness Benefits Program including six sick days, as well as access to Inkblot Therapy, a virtual mental health platform.
