Our Edmonton based client is adding this exiting new role to their team.The Senior Application Specialist plays an integral role in ensuring that enterprise software applications function efficiently and meet the evolving needs of the company. This position involves a blend of technical and data acumen and customer service, as the Senior Applications Specialist works closely with end-users and technical team members to plan, coordinate, configure, deploy, and troubleshoot cloud enterprise applications (i.e. Loan Management, Loan Origination, CRM, CMS and other critical applications).This role is also responsible for developing and maintaining an application and data architecture blueprint. By maintaining a deep understanding of the enterprise software’s capabilities and the business’s objectives, the Senior Application Specialists help to bridge the gap between technology and enterprise applications. This role requires supporting the seamless evolution, optimization and operation of applications, contributing to the overall productivity and effectiveness of the organization.Responsibilities:

• Contribute to defining, developing, and documenting enterprise application architecture standards, data standards, and best practices
• Research, plan, coordinate, Implement and configure enterprise cloud applications to meet the specific needs of internal users and external customers
• SME for the technical team on the configuration, enhancements, support enterprise applications
• Ensure optimal enterprise application performance including but not limited to effective utilization, through the use of monitoring applications performance metrics
• Leverage APIs and middleware to facilitate effective communication and data exchange among different applications
• Troubleshoot and resolve enterprise application and data issues, to ensure minimal business disruption
• Conduct at least annually enterprise application BC and DC exercises, to ensure end to end high availability
• Collaborate with vendor software developers and engineers to provide feedback on application performance and suggest necessary adjustments or enhancements
• Oversee the coordination 3rd party application maintenance and upgrades; while ensuring they remain efficient, secure, and up to date with the latest technology standards
• Ensure all ETL processes are conducted to spec and per business needs
• Ensure data generated and imported by the applications is of high quality, and is impactful to help in decision-making processes, while improving business processes
• Configure applications according to user feedback and change business requirements to ensure the software continues to meet organizational needs.
• Document all processes related to application deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting procedures for future reference and compliance purposes.
• Provide SME advice on the use of application technology stack including best practices
• Provide oversight into enterprise application standards adherence through reviews of detailed technical specifications
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and technical team members to understand the application, data, and security requirements and objectives
• Test, deploy, and monitor the application solutions and ensure they meet the functional and non-functional specifications.
• Provide technical knowledge transfer and guidance to the technical team
• Identify and implement improvements and enhancements to the enterprise application processes and performance
• Stay current on the latest trends and developments in the application domain and adopt new technologies and methodologies as appropriate
• Oversee development and support of application portfolio back-end processes
• Assist with incident response, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem resolution
• Oversee the technology and standards for version control
• Partner with leaders of other disciplines to ensure proposed solutions align with information, technology, security and business architecture
• All other duties as required or assigned

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, and 7+ years of relevant hands-on work experience, having progressed through roles that demand increasing technical expertise
• Knowledge of systems and application architecture, data standards, frameworks, and practices are required
• Expertise in solution design, enterprise application configuration and support, in addition to strong business understanding
• A passion for experimenting with new technologies to determine business value
• Proficient in working with API’s from commercial software applications, such as LOS, LMS, CRM or ERP systems
• Proven experience in managing relationships with vendors/consultants, technical teams and internal stakeholders
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, customer service, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Attention to detail and quality assurance
• Financial services experience is an asset
• Certification in the Microsoft suite including Dynamics, Loan Management, Loan Origination is an asset
