Job Summary
Working with Operations management to ensure Terrain Parks meet and exceed safety regulations and quality standards. Responsible for tracking departmental budget for labour and scheduling staff through Dayforce. Training of terrain park staff for standard operating procedures, proper maintenance techniques, and information recording. Coordination with grooming staff and Duty Manager for night shift grooming tasks. Coordinating with snowmaking and with Patrol in regards to proper fencing, hazard marking, and regular patrolling. Ensuring the Terrain Park Lead Hand has an active list of tasks. Involvement with feature list update for website, photo/film shoots. Working closely with the events and marketing team with terrain park related events.
Essential Job FunctionsPerforming maintenance tasks involving raking, shoveling, salting, inspecting of all features throughout the day depending on traffic, snow conditions
Ensuring that all fencing, signs, and feature markers entrance is properly setup at all times during operating hours, and that they are properly taken down for grooming and maintenance.
Documenting maintenance upon completion in the daily conditions report along with current weather/ snow conditions, and inspections for liability purposes
Keeping hourly/daily traffic counts for all terrain park zones for statistical purposes, also monitoring traffic to watch out for those riders who should not be in the terrain park due to their ability level.
Assisting with all events throughout the season including pre-event promotion in the Terrain Park, event setup, maintenance, and breakdown.
Interact with customers on a daily basis to educate and inform them of rules and etiquette of terrain parks, safety tips.
Public Relations with customers on a daily basis
Ensuring that Lead Hands and Rangers have a constant flow of tasks throughout all the Terrain Parks.
Working with the Lead Hand and Manager on planning terrain park development throughout the winter season
Planning each weekly build and post build report
Training Park Staff on park builds (may require to work overnight shifts)
Scheduling and approving shifts in Dayforce.
Attend all Operations meetingsSupervisory ResponsibilityThis position provides direct supervision to all Terrain Parks staff and Lead Hands.Required Qualifications and Abilities5+ years’ experience within The Terrain Park industry, and Ski Resort operations.
Strong understanding of Freestyle Terrain and design Supervisory experience and ability to communicate and work closely with multiple departments
Ability to operate a Snowcat is strong asset (not required)
Experience Welding, carpentry knowledge
Ability to work in all weather conditions, long hours, and rotating schedule including early mornings and late nights
Ability to lift and move heavy objects
Ability to work early mornings and overnight shifts
Ability to follow direction, act a leader of the team, and was well as complete tasks with minimal supervision.Working Conditions
Terrain Park Supervisors are to perform 90% of their duties outdoors in unpredictable mountain weather conditions. The other 10% is preformed indoors doing terrain park admin like duties. Due to the nature of the business, this position requires flexibility in terms of your work schedule. A variety of work schedules may include rotation of shifts, day/evening shifts, graveyard shifts and weekends and statutory holidays. Shifts require shoveling and shaping for long periods of time, lifting, twisting, and other forms of manual tasks related to the operating a Terrain Park.Compensation and Benefits$21.62/hour to $25.28/hourAll positions are eligible for the following benefits and perks:Free Seasonal Access Pass
